Cleaning
I had a cleaning last week with Diane at the NYU Perio Department. She was very gentle yet thorough (aside from one especially sensitive area on one of my back upper molars). I absoluutely hate having my teeth clean but completely love having clean teeth at the end. In fact, for the past week I have abstained from coffee, partly in an effort to keep my teeth shiny white.
Bite Still Off
My bite is still off, and I think next visit I am going to complain vociferously about that.

Another Adjustment
I went in for my October adjustment appointment last week with Dr. Weinstein and Dr. Han. They re-shaped the archwire on top to make my two front teeth "stand up straight," and within 12 hours they were! I am pleased with the way they are looking now. They also had me discontinue the daily weariing of the rubber bands, and now I am only to wear the triangle band on the right side only at night only. The result so far has been that my bite seems to be getting even worse.
Another Follow Up With Dr. Karlis on the Numbness
I had an appointment with Dr. Karlis this week, to go over the lingering numbness and facial discomfoort. She and her assistant tested my face for feeling, though she did not have the records from the last time we did that. I was able to ascertain the feeling on my face (pointy or soft, direction, etc.). I told her about the acupuncture treatmments, etc., and she recommended that I conotinue with that, as it seemed to work for me. She also says that I should continue to vigorously massage the upper gum and lip, to continue to break up the swelling.
